With the fast-changing technology world, digitization used intelligently has huge impact on business models. Increasingly companies are using technologies as a driver for disrupting the business model. Recent examples include Oyo Rooms, Uber cabs and list goes on. Easy access to internet bandwidth is ensuring that more and more people are now online on their mobile phones and laptops. This is leading to increase in traffic on the applications/machine which leads to the collection of more data from the users, inter connectivity of devices, humans leading to a new interconnected world often refer to as intelligent digital mesh. Businesses are now transforming into intelligent data driven organisation relying heavily on artificial intelligence and digital technologies to optimize their operations and change their business models. With this changing scenario, it poses a new set of challenges in the Quality Assurance world & gives a new opportunity. Challenges stem from the fact that people are becoming more and more dependant on the technology for their day to day needs. This means when we are testing the system, we must be more vigilant and define new strategies for testing in the interconnected world. At the same time, it also provides opportunity to optimize our testing methodologies by using data driven intelligent techniques. My article is intended to business stakeholders, technical leadership teams and companies who want to change their models with emerging technologies.

Based on fact finding & analysis, this paper provides a brief description of emerging technologies and impact it is having on testing. I have followed it up by a use case, how the life of airline passenger is changing with the increase usage of these technologies. Right from choosing the destination to planning your flights, hotels, actual travel, journey, stay – passenger is coming in touch with the host of intelligent digital technologies which help in improving their experience.
Key takeaway is audience would get an insight into the changes that need to be brought into testing lifecycles to meet the need of intelligent digital mesh. Availability, Reliability, Connectivity & Security are the key components that should be considered in design & test cycles to optimize the results.
